The Student

JENNIFER (THE STUDENT):

A native of Southern California, I decided to embark on a career in the Dietetic fielded after my husband and I wanted to start a family. Our efforts were fruitless that resulted in several miscarriages and doctors informed us that little to no research was done in this field. The experience motivated me to seek knowledge and good health. So I embarked on a career that I later embraced whole heartily.

My desire to help others avoid the pain I experienced with the miscarriages through good health inspired me to start a blog. While attending college, my education led me to many roads, one of them to Jennifer’s nutrition course where my appetite for knowledge grew and it wasn’t long before the professor and the student bonded as friends collaborating on JENMI JENMI.

With the support of my husband, family and friends, I was able to meet and exceed my responsibilities while performing my field work in several Hospitals and organizations.

In my work as a dietetic technician intern, I performed my duties as a nutritional counselor; nutritional care; conducted patient education and created and presented educational presentations; diet modification; nutritional counseling and food service management. In addition, I arranged, organized, promoted, solicited sponsorship and collected contributions for Health Fairs.

I am eager to complete my education as a Registered Dietitian and to share my experiences along the way. My friend and I welcome you to our blog and look forward to your comments and feedback.

  1. Hi, Jennifer! It’s nice to “meet” you! I, too, am working on my Masters in Nutrition. Going back to school at the age of 27 was quite daunting to say the least! Without any nutrition background (I have a B.A in Psychology), it took me 3 semesters just to complete the prereq! Two years later, I couldn’t be happier! My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for a lil over a year now. Through proper nutrition and love for clean eating, my body’s finally responding in a great, positive way! I am excited to follow your blog!
